Destination Brocéliande in Brittany

Brocéliande, a name that evokes magic… Many stories and legends are associated with this forest. In Brocéliande, there’s the forest, of course, but there’s also an extraordinary built heritage. Get lost in the area’s communes and admire the red shale stone houses typical of the Destination. Built by Arthur Regnault in the 19th century, Maxent’s church is well worth a visit. Don’t miss Paimpont, a village of legendary charm. A visit to Paimpont also includes its magnificent 13th-century abbey, its pond and its Forges, remnants of the largest forges in Brittany.

At the heart of the Destination, Brittany’s largest forest, the Forêt de Brocéliande, can be discovered on foot, by bike or on horseback. As you venture through the forest, you’ll discover a variety of landscapes, including moorland, ponds and oak and beech woods, some of which are hundreds of years old and legendary!
