Paimpont

Located in the heart of the forest of Broceliande, the commune of Paimpont conceals many natural and historical sites: must-sees for tourism! Beyond its thousand-year-old history, the commune encompasses in large part the forest of Broceliande where the adventures of the legendary heroes of the Arthurian Myth would have taken place: places to visit absolutely during your stay.

Getting there

A village with Breton charm

Pass the porch of the main street and discover the alignment of Armorican sandstone houses… The village of Paimpont, built around the priory of the abbey is not without charm! Its small stores of handicrafts, medieval, Celtic or fantastic items already embark you in the legends of Broceliande…Surrounded by the forest of Broceliande, the commune conceals many sites to visit and circuits of randonnée not to be missed!

A remarkable abbey

Leaning against the pond of Paimpont, its imposing and elegant silhouette sometimes takes on golden or bluish reflections depending on the season… Originally a simple priory founded in the 7th century, the abbey is today one of the most imposing religious buildings in the Broceliande country. Do not hesitate to enter to admire the treasure of the abbey: it consists, among other things, of pieces of silverware including a magnificent silver reliquary that would contain a radius of King Saint-Judicael…

The Paimpont pond, a natural and leisure space

This artificial water reservoir is home to many plant and animal species throughout the year. Suitable for walking, the pond has a circuit (from 2 to 4 km) to discover the surrounding landscapes and offers a breathtaking view of the abbey! For the more sporty, a leisure base managed by the Canoë-Kayak du Pays de Brocéliande offers for rent canoes, paddles, pedal boats…
