Broceliande in spring/summer an enchanting forest

In spring/summer

In spring, Broceliande becomes more and more beautiful and the majestic trees are adorned with thousands of leaves… Nature awakens until the end of the summer! Would you like to come?

Do you feel ready to walk through the forest of Broceliande and discover all its secrets? Let’s start with some useful information…

The forest of Broceliande, also known as the forest of Paimpont, is vast. Covering nearly 12,000 hectares! So you will need much more than a day to walk around and discover its legendary sites. To go from one place to another you will need your car or think about renting electric bikes!

Note also that the forest is 90% private and that in the south 5000 hectares are inaccessible (it is the military ground of Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan). To prepare your walk, you will find on this page the map of the forest (also available for free in the Tourist Information Centres dotted around the area).

But above all in Broceliande, good shoes will come in handy! Merlin knows no enchantments to cure sprained ankles.

A map is at your disposal to locate the places accessible to all.

To let the forest reveal itself to you, there’s nothing better than a storytelling walk!

Our guides will be able to deliver you all the secrets and legends of our fabulous forest. With a good mood and fresh air guaranteed! If you prefer to go alone, with your map and the forest access guide (on sale in the tourist offices), you will be well prepared. Beware, there are only a few information panels but don’t you have to get a little lost for the magic to really happen?

Recommendations for a respectful and serene walk

Finally, to keep our forest beautiful, take care of it! Here are some rules of conduct to best respect its biodiversity:

  • Camping and campfires (and even smoking) are not allowed in the forest and on the moor. A fire happen can happen so quickly! However, we have plenty of nice campsites in the area…
  • Please take your waste with you, it can harm the wildlife if you leave it..
  • Keep your pets on a leash: we would not like your four legged friend to find himself head to head with a boar.
  • Use your feet or your bike, but be careful as the hiking trails are forbidden to motorized vehicles.
  • Although it is tempting, stay on the marked trails to best preserve the flora and be careful.

Now that you know all this, hop, hop, hop, let’s get going! Put on your hiking boots, book a storytelling walk or stop by our tourist information offices and take some pretty pictures for us! If you post them on social networks, don’t forget to use #Broceliande!
