The Théâtre Equestre is an atypical cultural venue that rose from the ground 10 years ago. The Théâtre Equestre is an atypical cultural venue that rose from the ground 10 years ago. Where once there was nothing but fields and pastures as far as the eye could see, now stands a superb building dedicated to the equestrian arts. Cattle have given way to equines, much to the delight of lovers and enthusiasts of this noble animal. They can come and discover this space, open to a mix of artistic genres, through performances, exhibitions, concerts and dressage courses. Behind this large-scale project is a man who decided, against all odds, to set up this human adventure. Patrick Massé, as you will have gathered, has a determined temperament. Inspired by the Festival Photo guest, he creates a new show every year.
The Théâtre Equestre de Bretagne is open to companies wishing to take up residencies or program their live shows, for one evening or a longer period. It is also a venue for exhibitions, where you can meet painters, sculptors or photographers. If you come to the Théâtre Equestre, don't hesitate to ask the man who runs it: he'll be delighted to show you around his world, and in particular his collection of spurs which he displays in his private museum.
