The taxe de séjour (tourist tax) is a tool for financing actions “designed to promote tourism in the commune [or group of communes]”. – article L2333-27 of the French General Code of Local Authorities.
The aim is simple : to get tourists to contribute to the development of local tourism. Accommodation providers play an essential role in this organization, as they are responsible for collecting the tourist tax from their customers and transferring it to Montfort Communauté.
Montfort Communauté provides an online platform for declaring tourist tax. Each accommodation provider who has submitted his CERFA to the town hall (mandatory procedure), has a login and password which are sent to them individually. If you are declaring your tourist tax on paper and would like to switch to online declaration, please contact the Montfort Communauté finance department.
