The Destination d’excellence label, set up by the French government through the Direction Générale des Entreprises, aims to improve the quality of tourist services in France.
It provides establishments such as hotels, campsites and tourist offices with specific guidelines for optimizing their services and ensuring secure management. With its focus on customer satisfaction, this mark is a guarantee for visitors, professionals and local authorities alike.
The Tourist Office has a number of objectives:
- maintain a constant quest for organizational excellence,
- increase the visibility and credibility of its services,
- contribute to local tourism development by satisfying the public and generating economic spin-offs.
To achieve these objectives, a Quality Manager oversees the quality approach, working in collaboration with a team of referents in each Tourist Office department.

Ploërmel Communauté, through its tourist offices, contributes to the development of the region and local economic spin-offs: facilities, coordination of tourism players, promotion, etc.

Preparing for classification
In order to qualify its work and services, the Ploërmel Communauté Tourist Office is currently involved in :
– Preparing its application to obtain category II classification;
– the Destination d’excellence label, with support from OTB. It will take almost 3 years to prepare the application and obtain the label. The Destination d’excellence label is awarded by the Direction Générale des Entreprises (DGE) for a period of five years, with the organization of a mystery visit during the period managed by the Relais Territorial. This mark selects and unites under a single symbol the quality initiatives undertaken to ensure your satisfaction in accommodation, catering, cafés and brasseries, seasonal rental agencies and tourist offices.
