The Velodyssey and our greenways

By bike, on foot or on horseback, take to the towpath of the Canal de Nantes à Brest, the route of La Vélodyssée! This itinerary is a royal road for those who dream of discovering our inland Brittany at their own pace, with its authentic villages such as Malestroit and La Gacilly.
And if you fancy discovering other hidden nuggets, the Voies Vertes of Questembert-Mauron or Ploërmel-Guippry Messac will let you criss-cross our verdant countryside!

THE VELODYSSEE

If you’re looking for safe cycling trails, the vélodyssée, which follows the towpath of the Nantes-Brest Canal, is for you. Car-free and therefore safe, and mostly shaded, it will take you as far as Malestroit, classified as a “Petite Cité de caractère” and also known as the “Pearl of the Oust”, or with a short detour to the famous village of Yves Rocher and its Photo Festival, La Gacilly.

LA VOIE VERTE N°3

Greenway n°3 (Saint-Malo / Rhuys) is ideal for cycling or inline skating, as it is paved between Mauron and Questembert. It will take you to the Brocéliande forest via Ploërmel (former ducal town), or by bike to Questembert to catch the train.
It’s also possible to join the voie verte from the towpath of the Canal de Nantes à Brest (Vélodyssée), the two routes crossing north of Malestroit.

LA VOIE VERTE PLOËRMEL > GUER > MESSAC

Joining Voies Vertes n°3 (at Ploërmel) and n°2 (at Messac), this 50 km-long former railway line winds its way along hedgerows, streams and ponds to the delight of sports and nature lovers.
